Machine Shop (1916)

170 Huyshope Avenue

The one-story structure is almost completely open, as it was when used for manufacturing.  The sawtooth roof allows the interior of the building to be bathed in natural light. It originally housed machine gun production as well as a drafting room and offices.  Between World War I and World War II, it was used for the production of Colt electrical equipment. Colt Fire Arms manufactured M-16s here during the Vietnam War, after which the building was used for storage. In 2004, the Machine Shop was rehabilitated to become office space for an information technology company.
